This book is designed to aid foreign students in learning spoken Chinese. It is the first of its kind published in China for distribution abroad. A special feature of this course is that it aims to integrate effectively the results of theoretical research in modern linguistics and the data gained in phonetic experiments with practical experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
